Our Mission, Our Goal

Both the national Bereaved Parents of the USA and Bereaved Parents of North Texas serve bereaved parents, siblings, and grandparents:

  • to educate families about the grief process following the death of a child
  • to provide monthly meetings with sharing groups and informative programs
  • to provide a library at each meeting place for members to borrow books, pamphlets, videos, and cassettes which offer the best information about the grieving process
  • to supply telephone numbers of other bereaved parents, siblings, and grandparents who have volunteered and are able to offer support to the more newly bereaved
  • to provide a monthly newsletter containing essays and poems written by other bereaved persons and to keep members abreast of chapter meetings and activities
  • to inform and educate the public about bereavement, and to assist members of the helping professions who interact with bereaved parents as to the nature and duration of parent/sibling/grandparent bereavement
